Sherry A. Latham

Ms. Latham is the founder of Oklahoma Medical Legal Consulting Services LLC, which was founded in 2003. Her company transitioned to Sherry Latham & Associates in 2019. Ms. Latham is an experienced Certified Life Care Planner (CLCP) and Certified Nurse Life Care Planner (CNLCP) with a demonstrated history of twenty-one years in the legal services industry and over thirty-nine years as a nurse. Her legal expertise in life care planning as an expert witness has been provided nationally for catastrophic injuries of all types. Her skill set in development of the life care plan, collaboration with healthcare providers, utilization of evidence-based materials, and her strong ability to convey the needs of the injured during deposition and trial have been provided in State and Federal venues. Ms. Latham and her team provide concierge services for both defense and plaintiff legal teams assisting with demand packages, deposition and trial preparation and demonstratives.
Ms. Latham is an active member of the International Association of Rehabilitation Professionals, the International Academy of Life Care Planners and the American Association of Nurse Life Care Planners. Ms. Latham contributes to the field of life care planning through leadership positions, committee contribution, presentations, research data specific to the field of life care planning and contributing author of articles in the Journal of Life Care Planning and American Association of Legal Nurse Consulting. She has also authored an article per request of the Oklahoma Bar Association personal injury journal.
Ms. Latham has presented at local, state, national and international conferences about life care planning and ethics for life care planners. Ms. Latham served as Chair of the International Commission on Health Care Certification CLCP Board of Commissioners, as well as the Executive Board of the ICHCC from 2007-2019.
Ms. Latham was asked to join as Adjunct Faculty for Capital Law Life Care Planning Program in 2018, for the Certified Life Care Planning Certification and the only University Based Program for life care planning. Ms. Latham and her co-instructor co-authored the new life care planning curriculum for the Capital University Law School Life Care Program increasing this program to sixteen post-graduate credit hours and more than doubling the required continuing education requirements to sit for the CLCP or the CNLCP certifications. She taught as the lead instructor for Capital Law Life Care Planning Program through 2022.
Ms. Latham was designated a Fellow of International Academy of Life Care Planners, (FIALCP), in June of 2019, which recognizes expertise, experience and contribution to the field of life care planning and have achieved a high level of skill and utilize their skills and knowledge to promote the enhance of life care planning.
She was designated as a member of the Editorial Board for both the Journal of Life Care Planning and Rehab Pro and continues to serve on this board. Ms. Latham has served on the Ethics Committee for the Journal of Life Care Planning since 2017, where she assists in writing an ethical dilemma as it applies to the ethics and standards of practice for the Journal of Life Care Planning.
In 2020, Ms. Latham was honored with the 2020 Outstanding Educator Award from the International Academy of Life Care Planners. She enjoys mentoring young life care planners and has had the privilege to mentor many across the nation over the years.
She served on the International Academy of Life Care Planners Advisory Committee for the Standards of Life Care Planning for the updated Standards of Practice for Life Care Planners that was published in 2023.
Ms. Latham authored the chapter regarding certifications and accreditation in the Life Care Planning and Case Management Across the Life Span Fifth Edition by Tanya Rutherford-Owen, Mary Barros-Bailey and Roger Weed which was published in 2023
